ALICE SPRINGS - Residents in the Northern Territory are praising local police after their long-weekend crackdown on piss-weak street theatre.

A piss-weak getaway attempt by a lame-arse street performer.

Police arrested as many as 20 bad mime artists and street performers, as part of their �Operation Lame-Arse� taskforce.

Police have rejected claims they used undue force in the crackdown, saying the protestors were asking for it.
